Terms of Service

AppMates is operated by Paolo Augello, a private individual based in Belgium acting in a non-professional capacity, reachable at appmates.contact@gmail.com. These terms govern your use of AppMates (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the pre-flight checks, you agree to them.
What the Service is
AppMates is two things bundled together: a set of pre-flight checks that read public App Store and Google Play catalogue data (no account required), and a testing marketplace where developers exchange closed testing and honest feedback with each other.
The marketplace: what it is and isn't
- Testing slots are earned by testing other people's apps, not purchased — there is currently no real-money transaction anywhere in the marketplace.
- Tokens have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred for money, or redeemed outside AppMates.
- The Service never trades, requests, or incentivises App Store or Play Store reviews or ratings. Both stores prohibit incentivised reviews outright; doing so risks your developer account, not just this one. What you exchange here is private feedback on a build and, where relevant, a closed-testing invite.
- Closed testing itself is invitation-only on both stores regardless of AppMates — the marketplace helps you find who to invite, it doesn't change what either store requires.
Your account
Signing in uses a one-time email link — there is no password to create or lose. You're responsible for the email address you register with and for anything sent from that link while it's valid (fifteen minutes, single use).
Your conduct
- Give real feedback on builds you actually test.
- Don't submit an app you don't have the right to have others test.
- Don't use the messaging feature for anything other than coordinating a test or a launch — no advertising unrelated services, no harassment.
- Don't try to inflate your own token balance, reputation, or leaderboard position other than by genuinely helping other developers.
Accounts that clearly violate these terms — faked completions, review trading, abuse of other members — may be suspended. You can ask for your account and its data to be deleted at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how.
No warranty
The pre-flight checks and market data are read from Apple's and Google's own public catalogues at the time you run them — accurate as of that read, not a guarantee against a future store rejection. Feedback exchanged through the marketplace is the opinion of the tester who wrote it, not AppMates'. The Service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AppMates' operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including a store's decision on your listing, or the conduct of another member you exchanged testing with.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the Service changes. Continuing to use AppMates after a change means you accept the new terms; material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date above.
