In plain words: the batch's final candidate โ€” the celebrated ecosystem-science method that detects which system drives which by reconstructing their hidden dynamics โ€” was killed by the market itself. Handed two byte-for-byte identical series, its "coupling strength" reading should be perfect; instead it read anywhere from 87% to 99.6% depending on which market regime it looked at. The reason is fundamental: the method reads coupling through how well a system's dynamics predict themselves, which works for planetary orbits and plankton but not for noisy markets โ€” so its reading of the one certain answer gets contaminated by each regime's noisiness. A gauge that reads the same truth differently per regime cannot certify coupling anywhere.
