CITAR - Civ Inspired Tool for AI Research

A Civilization V-style strategy game whose players can be language models. You can play against
them, watch them play each other, and measure how well they do it.

WHAT THIS INSTALLS

CITAR itself, with everything it needs built in. No Python, no command line, no account.
It runs entirely on this computer and listens only to this computer.

WHAT YOU NEED AS WELL

A model for the AI players to use. When CITAR first opens it will look for one and, if it
does not find one, tell you exactly what to install for the hardware in this machine.

You can also play right away against the built-in scripted opponent, which needs nothing
else installed. That opponent is what AI players are scored against, so it is worth a game
  of your own.

WHERE THINGS GO

The program in the folder you choose on the next screen
Your games and results in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CITAR

Uninstalling removes the program and asks before touching anything you have made.

PRIVACY

CITAR sends nothing anywhere. It has no telemetry, no analytics and no account system in
this mode. The only network connections it makes are to model servers you configure - which
may be on this machine, and stay on it unless you choose a hosted API.
