Cognitive Modules is a specification and runtime for **verifiable, structured AI tasks** with strong contracts, auditability, and deterministic validation.

- **Primary runtime**: Node.js CLI (`cognitive-modules-cli`, command `cog`)
- **Python runtime**: legacy / not actively maintained

## Installation (Node.js)

> `cogn` is an alias package for `cognitive-modules-cli`. Both provide the same `cog` command.

## LLM Configuration

Cognitive Modules auto-selects a provider based on which API key is present. You can override with `--provider` and `--model`.

Environment variables:

- `GEMINI_API_KEY`
- `DEEPSEEK_API_KEY`
- `MINIMAX_API_KEY`
- `MOONSHOT_API_KEY`

- `OLLAMA_HOST` (for Ollama local)
- `COG_MODEL` (override default model)
